In Person Classes Resumed October 1st

Blended learning students were welcomed back to the school building for the first day of in-person, socially-distanced instruction for the semester. In-person instruction for students are participating in blended learning will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays until further notice.

The Fannie Lou community gathered in a Zoom meeting to continue our celebration of the amazing class of 2020. We laughed and cried at the wonderful memories we've made during the past four years and we imagined how the strength of this class may be used to forge a better future for our society.

Fannie Lou Graduation Celebration CARavan

Even though we were not allowed to have a traditional graduation ceremony this year, there was no way to keep staff from celebrating the accomplishments of the class of 2020. So, in addition to a virtual graduation ceremony, staff spent 2 days delivering diplomas to graduating seniors and cheering them on with their neighbors.

The horrific murders of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Tony McDade, and Ahmaud Arbery the last few weeks and the countless other senseless murders throughout the years of African Americans and Latinos at the hands of the police have been outrageous acts of injustice and a continued threat to equity and equality.  Unfortunately, we all feel the same as the namesake of our school, we are ALL sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Student Government continues to meet remotely to plan for what our annual Peace Block Party will look like this year. It will have a different form, certainly, but still will have many of the features you've come to know and love.

FLHFHS Students Participate in Career Discovery Week

Fannie Lou 10th graders visited the New York offices of WilmerHale, an internationally renowned law firm. Students met with partners and associates of the firm to discuss pathways to legal careers. Students also participated in several workshops designed to help refine their resumes and interviewing skills.
