HELP US GET TO WASHINGTON, DC

We are planning a trip to the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC, but we can use your assistance. We are raising money for this great project that will send 90 students to Washington where students will visit the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum at the halfway point of an 8-week unit on the Holocaust and World War II. Before visiting the museum, students will have read Night by Elie Wiesel and written a Literary analysis, focusing on themes of morality, survival, trauma, and identity.
We appreciate any assistance or sharing with your networks to help our students have this experience.

Fannie Lou Hamer Street Naming

Fannie Lou Hamer High School students petitioned for the Westfarms street to be renamed after Fannie Lou Hamer, “Fannie Lou Hamer Street.”

Fannie Lou Hamer "Freedom" High School opened it’s doors back in 1994, and today, February 2019, in honor of Black History Month, we come together proud to share this moment with students, faculty and local officials. Together, we honored her legacy and the many contributions put forward by Mrs. Hamer.
