Health and Wellness

We aim to make quality health services accessible to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of adolescents and their families. Students are able to receive comprehensive, continuous, and coordinated care through the resources of Children's Aid clinics and partnerships with other health organizations.

Medical

At our Bronx Family Center on Southern Boulevard, Adolescent Health Services include immunizations, well-adolescent examinations, care for acute and chronic illnesses, reproductive health care and family planning, screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections and HIV, health education, counseling and complete physicals for school, sports or working papers. To make appointments, contact The Children's Aid office, Room 120.

Dental

Students can receive dental screening through NYU Dentistry in the spring. Link to form.

Vision

Each fall our partnership with Helen Keller International Child Sight allows Children's Aid to provide on-site vision screening for every student and free glasses for those who need them. If a student loses his/her glasses during the year or needs a new prescription, contact the Children's Aid office, room 120.

Sexual Education

Sexual Education workshops help young people learn about themselves and their bodies in an age and stage appropriate fashion. Sexual Education staff are professional educators from the Children's Aid Health and Wellness Division, and act as mentors and advisers on issues related to reproductive health and safety, healthy relationships, and general well-being.
