Community Schools

For over 20 years, Children’s Aid Community Schools have worked hand in hand with educators to elevate education by combining the best practices of a public school with services tailored to address the complex challenges children face. Community Schools utilize community partnerships to create a dynamic learning environment for the student, as well as an important focal point for the family and surrounding community. This approach successfully sparks a life-long love of education with “hands-on” learning activities, while diminishing real-life hurdles to achievement with comprehensive health services in addition to parental support services. Fannie Lou Hamer Freedom High School is a full-service Community School that provides access to support in the domains of Education, Social Emotional Learning, Health and Wellness, and Family and Home.
