NGC Code: Breaking into Tech is a 12-week program intended to develop confidence and a strong understanding of the technology lifecycle for youths between the ages of 14-18.
Young people will engage In a four-phase curriculum starting with;
- Phase 1: Learning the inner-workings of the 21st-century startup ecosystem and the tech that fuels them
- Phase 2: Intro to Business Dev + Digital Marketing - This is Biz Dev and Digital Marketing 101. Youth will leave with the industry mindset, framework, and language to guide them in the execution of their first project
- Phase 3: Intro to Tech: Youth will get a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of tech and learn how to build their first web-based app/site with VPL
- Phase 4: Youth will synthesize all the information they’ve learned and build out an idea into a fully executable product
- Phase 5: Youth will present what they’ve built and celebrate all their hard work. Youth will also be eligible to receive an industry-recognized certificate!
There will be an event at NGC on October 7th at 5 pm, where youth will participate in a group interview to potentially be selected for the program.
