Shelter-In

Dear Families,

The safety and well-being of all students and staff members at Fannie Lou Hamer Freedom HS, remains our highest priority.  Towards that end, we are informing you regarding an incident that took place today near our school building.

Earlier today, in response to an incident nearby, our school was placed on a shelter-in. During a shelter-in, students and staff may not enter or leave the school building, but all classes continue uninterrupted, and students otherwise go about their usual activities. Local authorities investigated and confirmed that it was safe for us to lift the shelter-in. All classes were uninterrupted during this time.

We assure you that every precaution was taken and will continue to be taken to ensure the safety of our school community, and I want to thank all our students and staff for their cooperation during this shelter-in.

We look forward to our continued partnership as we work together to ensure that Fannie Lou Hamer Freedom HS provides the best and safest learning environment for all our students.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 718-861-0521.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey Palladino

Principal
