This Way Ahead provides hands-on training for retail work at the Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic. Earn up to $200 for training and get a paid internship making $15/hr. Must be 16-24 years old to apply.

Over several weeks in April-May, participants are offered job readiness training and career exploration guidance to help them find a job and keep a job. Throughout the job readiness and internship phase of the program, youth are matched with a coach who helps them to set short-term goals and to effectively use this work experience as a stepping stone towards those goals.

This opportunity is unique in that there is an expectation that more than half of the interns that successfully complete the internship will be offered ongoing employment at the end of the 10-week internship. Previous interns that were successful in receiving employment offers after the summer remain connected to the program by offering mentorship to new interns arriving in the stores each year.

This Way Ahead will begin recruiting for their next cycle in the beginning of April. An afterschool trip to an orientation event will be scheduled. If you would like to be included on the list for that trip, please email Nathan ([email protected]) and you will receive updates about when the trip is scheduled and what you will need to do.
