Playing for Keeps Video Game Design Students Visit NYU

Sara Vogel of Global Kids says of Fannie Lou students participating in the after-school video game design program Playing for Keeps:

We had a fabulous time at NYU Magnet Game Center yesterday with Fannie Lou students! The 9th and 10th graders that came with us heard from the admissions office about the school's Bachelor's degree program (how you need a portfolio to apply, the kinds of opportunities and connections they have), toured the classrooms and collaborative spaces, playtested some awesome games in development by their Master's students, asked NYU students questions about their experiences there, drooled over their library of 5,000 games, and ate pizza.

The kids expressed excitement over potentially applying there -- many of them didn't want to leave, and talked about wanting to live there...!

We hope this will really propel the students to think about their work at school and in our club as part of a pathway that will lead them to college and a fulfilling career.

Thanks to Robert from CAS for accompanying and to everyone for your continued support!
