FLH Students Accepted to Achievement Programs

posted Mar 7, 2014, 11:12 AM by Alison Gazarek
Congratulations to Divante Hawkins, a 9th grade student at Fannie Lou Hamer who competed with 900 other high school students for admission to the SEO Scholars Program. SEO Scholars is an eight-year academic program that prepares low-income public high school students for admission to the nation’s most competitive colleges—and supports them through college graduation.

"After 900 application reviews, almost 500 interviews and over 15 hours of deliberation, we finally have our Class of 2017! On Saturday, March 1, we welcomed 133 new 9th grade scholars to our SEO family during our annual orientation at Credit Suisse. The scholars are from 61 schools across New York City."

We also wish students Manisha Perman and Breona Luker GOOD LUCK in their interviews in a few weeks for the prestigious Syracuse University Summer College Program, where high school juniors spend 6-weeks at Syracuse during the summer taking classes.
