Back to School for Fannie Lou Parents!

posted Dec 19, 2014, 7:43 AM by Alison Gazarek
In partnership with the Children's Aid Society, Fannie Lou Hamer has been home to Saturday classes for parents in the community for a series of weekends in the school building. Under the organization and care of Parent Engagement Coordinator Orfelina Cisneros, many parents recently graduated from the 8-week cooking course, a financial literacy workshop, and "We Are New York" ESL classes.

Parents are currently participating in an arts and crafts class on Saturday, and beginning in January, will have the opportunity to attend Health and Sex Ed workshops.

We are so grateful for the support and participation of our parents! And we are so proud to be a Community School, housing programs and opportunities for everyone in our community. Stay tuned for more opportunities for students and parents at Fannie Lou Hamer Freedom High School.
